In mid-December 2014, a new case management order (CMO) was filed in the New Jersey Mirena IUD multicounty litigation (MCL). The CMO detailed the defendant’s request to file motions for summary judgment on statute of limitations. Judge Brian R. Martinotti denied the request without prejudice.
The defendant filed their request as they most likely believe that the statute of limitations will preclude plaintiffs from winning a Mirena IUD lawsuit.
The case management order also laid out dates for future status conferences. The next status conference will take place on January 20, 2015.
As of December 15, 2014, there are 1,375 Mirena IUD lawsuits pending in the New Jersey Superior Court in Bergen County.
