Medical Professionals on Staff

Our commitment to success goes beyond the attorneys at Carey Danis & Lowe. We employ a full medical research team filled with registered nurses and other medical industry professionals.

Andrea Powell

Medical Research

Andrea Powell has been in the field of medical-legal nursing for 20 years. After attending Ole Miss and graduating with a Bachelors in Science of Nursing from University of Louisiana, she started her nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit, becoming certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support with advancement to charge nurse of the 16 bed unit before leaving to become director of the first pulmonary rehab in north Louisiana. Her husband’s career brought her family to Houston in 1998. It was there that she took her first job as a legal nurse consultant for a large multi-practice law firm, reviewing cases in defense of physicians and hospitals. She quickly moved on to plaintiff consulting and after receiving certification in legal nurse consulting, she opened Powell Consulting, Inc., a legal nurse consulting business that worked with more than 50 law firms on medical-malpractice and multi-district litigation cases. In the 10 years that she owned her company, she and her team of RN reviewers and analysts were instrumental in helping to procure in excess of $100,000,000.00 in settlements throughout the country. The extensive travel and time involved with running her consulting business lead her to take a position at Carey Danis & Lowe in 2012, where she assists the partners on cases and trials involving transvaginal mesh and consults on new docket development through theoretical statistics of past MDL success. She and her husband of 25 years live in Chesterfield and have three children in college.

Jessica Walsh-Wagner

Medical Research

Jessica Walsh, RN, has been with Carey Danis & Lowe for the last two years.

In the beginning of her nursing career she worked as a floor nurse in abdominal transplant before moving on to work as a Transplant Coordinator specializing in the liver, kidney, and pancreas. Prior to joining CD&L, she worked as a nurse for an interventional cardiologist and vascular surgeon. She knew she had found her niche at a law firm upon realizing she was able to advocate for the very people the healthcare system had previously failed, those who truly needed a voice.

In her free time she enjoys gardening, golfing, and spending time with her children.

Jill Wood

Jill is a registered nurse with the Missouri state board of nursing. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996 from the Jewish College of Nursing & Allied Health at the Washington University Medical Center with a degree in science nursing. In 1997, Jill transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at MO-Baptist Medical Center where she cared for critically ill and premature newborns as well as providing the infant rescue care at high risk deliveries. After five years in the NICU, she was offered a position with the head of pediatrics at MO-Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Joel Koenig. After serving as Dr. Koenig’s nurse for 13 years, she then joined the team at Carey, Danis, & Lowe in 2014 to assist in the analysis and medical review of transvaginal mesh and proton pump inhibitor cases.
